“Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness." I believe that care can/should be individualized (involving the individual), contain healthy coping skills, and help build a social support network that can help him/her/them progress towards a much happier future.

I am glad you're looking for therapeutic support in times that are drastically impacted by the capitalist mindset and inequality. Life’s external factors such as stress and trauma experiences including but not limited to childhood abuse, physical abuse, intimate partner violence, sexual violence, racial and social traumas as well as anti LGBTQ+ policies are taking toll on our bodies. These show up as fatigue, sadness, anxiety, overthinking, thoughts of self-harm, and disables us from our lives. In such times we all can use trauma-informed and nonjudgmental professional support to help us heal from root causes of these symptoms.

Sometimes we need support and guidance to help us manage distress, achieve greater clarity, build better relationships and develop a healthier sense of ourselves. Most of us many times don’t want to discuss our personal problems, even with those closest to us. I would like to extend my hand to help you feel better about your life, relationships and most importantly, yourself! I am a skilled, and experienced psychotherapist who offers a supportive and non-judgmental environment for the therapeutic relationship. I provide short term solution focused or medium to long term therapy for adults and teens, depending on individual needs.

I'M NOT good enough, I'M NOT lovable, & I'M not WORTHY! Sound familiar? Does it look "PERFECT" on the outside but you struggle internally? Does something feel off even though it seems life is all together? We live in a fast-paced world. The expectation is for us to have everything together: the perfect relationship, job, home, friends, body, high self-esteem, and social media life. - - - - - - - - - - - - The reality is, we have real emotions, feelings, and life challenges. Even the strongest of us need some support in forcing our inner self-sabtoging critic to sashay away. Together, let's create the life you've always wanted.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
