I have an area of expertise in grief and loss and would be honored to walk the path of healing with you if this is something you are dealing with.
I assist clients in processing through feelings and symptoms related to traumas or negative experiences that impact your life today. I believe that every individual possesses the ability to make positive changes in their lives and I would like to be a part of that journey with you. It takes strength and courage to face your problems and together we can take on this challenge. The treatment I provide is individualized to the person or couple I am working with. Because change is constant, we each go through phases of challenges and peace, and my attention will be on supporting you and/or your family in this process.

I specialize in couples therapy, relationship issues, Asian mental health, PTSD & CPTSD, anxiety, grief, gay/queer folks, 1st and 2nd gen immigrants, and children of refugees.
I help people heal from childhood and intergenerational trauma. You struggle in intimate relationships, being vulnerable, feeling good enough, with overwhelming emotions and/or negative thoughts, and the exhaustion of overthinking because of past painful experiences. You’ve been dealing with the same issues for years, tried solving these problems on your own, and realize you need help. You’re looking for long term solutions to long term issues.

I tend to work frequently with clients who are working through grief and loss and looking for hope and meaning.
Grappling with anxiety, depression, grief or a significant life transition can feel all consuming. Even if you have good support in your life, these experiences can exhaust your energies and feel isolating. It may be hard to see beyond a current painful time, or imagine things can feel different. In our therapy relationship, I will hold these challenges with care, and try to help you grow, find deeper meaning, peace, clarity, and ultimately more of yourself. It’s my belief that the therapy relationship invites more creative and authentic capacities to navigating life's inevitable changes and challenges.

Do you wish to develop a deeper relationship and connection with your body, breath, and your emotions? I can be a guide and support in your development. Whether you are struggling with fear, loss, grief, anger, trauma, relationship or other issues, a good portion of our exploration together will be internally focused on your felt experience. Deep wisdom and resources reside within you, and we follow together your curiosity about your own experiences. With a conscious presence, usually a slower pace than we are accustomed to, we can begin to explore and understand the meaning of these experiences.

I have worked extensively with depression, adjusting to motherhood, body image issues, grief, and parenting concerns and helping families create a new pattern of interaction.
Hope often sounds like a wishful word in our culture - but I want you to leave therapy with more hope - the gritty, scrappy, resilient kind. This authentic hope grows as you embrace your life story with all its darkness and light. You don't need to talk about everything at once, but just give yourself a place and time to connect with your whole self and pay attention to your life as it is now. As you connect deeply with yourself you are able to carve out space to reimagine how your life and relationships could be.

I hope that therapy will be a safe place to process life and better understand who you are. My main therapy focus is grief and loss, AND grief is a universal lived experience. Many challenges and complications we encounter fall under that umbrella from trauma to fertility to relationship dynamics evolving to identity changing. I'd be honored to walk with you through this season of grief (both death and non-death losses) and the myriad of feelings that come with it. It's okay to ask for help and prioritize yourself. I'm glad you're here.

I work with individuals living with trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and isolation.
Many of us learn early on that our belonging in this world depends on our ability to banish aspects of ourselves that cannot be safely held by others. We skillfully fold and shrink ourselves into the shapes that allow us to survive, sometimes with great reward for doing so, but find that our deepest longings go unmentioned and unmet. I am here to hold space for those parts which are too big, too unbearable to be held alone, so that my clients can expand in ways that help them contact their feelings, connect to their desires, and begin to find a home in the world.

If you find yourself facing major life changes, grief, persistent feelings of worry and despair, or simply seek a greater sense of meaning and connection in your life I would love to serve as a companion on your journey.
As a therapist I’m drawn to those places of breakdown that so often have the potential to become breakthroughs. Usually these are discovered in the midst of broader life-cycle transitions, moments of grief and loss, seasons of depression or anxiety, or in response to the myriad of social and cultural pressures we face. These experiences can be disorienting, frightening and isolating, but with the support of a trusted companion to help us face the journey they can also reveal our own innate wisdom and strength and serve as the gateway to deeper healing and wholeness.

I work with college students, artists, young professionals, witchy folks and grief and loss.
Now Accepting New Clients! You crave conversations about the universe, meaning, and purpose. You feel most alive and at peace while creating. Discussing the weather kills your soul a bit. People keep telling you you're in the "prime of your life" and you still have no idea wtf you're doing, and kinda feel like a hot mess. You also secretly wish that iced coffee you get every morning is just going to magically solve all your problems...I get it. Young adulthood, while exciting, can be kind of a mess and it sure isn't talked about enough. If you're needing a space to figure out where you want to go from here, shoot me a text.

I believe therapy is a collaborative process where narratives can be explored and embodied, and placed within a cultural context to support healing, growth, and liberation. I have experience working with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, complex racial and ethnic identity work, grief, separation & loss, and life transitions. My therapeutic approach is client-centered and informed by an integrative orientation based upon my training background in intersectional feminist therapy, existential therapy, and relational cultural theory.

While a desire to find meaningful connection with self and others appears universal, the everyday experiences of life often hold quite the opposite. Trauma, betrayal, loss, addiction, big life changes (and we can go on and on), can contribute to a variety of mental health concerns, and perpetuate dynamics that are not life-giving. Such dynamics are hard to put into words, so you are left looking for a safe space to tell your story and gain more insight into what shaped you, what motivates you, and what supports patterns of thinking and behavior that no longer serve you.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
