If you're struggling, I want you to know it doesn't have to be so hard, and you don't have to go it alone. Together we can begin to understand and cope with emotions and situations which can seem overwhelming. Relationships can create such powerful movement in our lives, and offer real hope. I share a profound respect for your choice to begin therapy, and will provide a non-judgmental space to express yourself. Anxiety, loss, transition -- often these struggles give us opportunity to grow and deepen our knowledge of ourselves.

One of the things I love to help my clients through is when they are going through moments of transition in life, whether it is retirement, joining the work force, empty nest feelings, going through grief of a loss of loved one, or working with a client who has received a jarring medical diagnosis.
I am an LPCC (Licensed Professional Counselor Credentialing) in the State of Colorado. My goal for providing counseling is to help my clients through some of life's most difficult times. Working together and exploring these hardships allows for the client to be able to cultivate and find some of life's most meaningful connections. Having trained in both somatic therapy and EMDR, I help move my clients through some of the most difficult traumas or bereavement as they journey to a greater understanding of self by fostering a more profound connection with the body, mind and spirit. I enjoy working with a wide range of ages.

I specialize in working with couples, families, depression, anxiety, grief, sexual and spiritual issues.
Hello! Thank you for taking a look at my therapy practice. I consider it an incredible honor to support individuals, couples, and families through challenging times. From my perspective, therapy should be a fairly brief, direct and effective experience where you learn practical tools to better navigate your relationships and other dynamics of your life you may not be feeling well-equipped to handle. I believe therapeutic sessions should be dynamic and produce results. My education includes approaches in attachment and mindfulness.

First off, let's acknowledge the elephant in the room – therapy can be intimidating. It's not every day you spill your innermost thoughts to a stranger. But that’s where my job comes in, I will work to build a relationship with you at your own pace and get you to a place where you feel able to be open with me. You can expect some genuine conversations, maybe a few laughs, and yes, possibly even some tears.

I specialize in grief, trauma, self-esteem, anxiety and relationship struggles.
From the outside looking in, you’ve got it “together", but it's hard to let people know the real you-even though you want to connect. Maybe you’ve had a major loss or an overwhelming event - a death, divorce, car accident, job loss, a personal violation, etc. At times it's impossible to face. Distractions used to work, but life feels out of control and you’re exhausted. Worries hijack your focus and ability to relax and even sleep. You move from being on edge to feeling numb and checked out. Life is a roller coaster and you want to feel balance. You're your own worst critic. You'd never talk to others the way you talk to yourself.

Together we can we can create the change you crave. Whether through individual counseling, family therapy, or in one of my groups: feel better, stop hurting, live happier, get relief, experience more ease, connection with yourself and others, and live with authenticity.

Adolescence and early adulthood holds a special place in my heart, because it is such ripe ground for discovery, yet many young people get stuck along the journey. I have worked with young people for over 10 years, who have struggled with social-anxiety and shyness, addiction, anxiety and panic attacks, depression, grief and loss issues, trauma, school issues, and complex family issues. While all of these can be horrific for the individual and families involved, the underlying resiliency present in each of these young people and families is the foundation that we build from in the healing process.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
