I work with individuals who are noticing a change in themselves through life transition, relationship loss, grief symptoms, feeling sadness 'when everything seems fine.' I work with clients who are experiencing trauma and grief symptoms with gentleness, safety, and respect for defenses. I have faith in the natural tendency of humans to grow toward healing and integration of mind, body, and spirit.
Every individual has strengths. My work with individuals uses these strengths and the therapeutic relationship to give space to the sometimes over-whelming nature of emotional work. In my practice I work using mindfulness techniques and body awareness to allow integration of mind, emotion, body and spirit.
I have a life-time of experience and work in the Deaf and Deaf-Blind communities of the northwest. I am fluent in American Sign Language.

Gretchen W. Savage's Groups

Grief and Loss

The very common fear that we are "losing it" or "going crazy" can be calmed when we learn the many ways that grief can affect us. In a Grief Support Group, people find unexpected solace and support in learning that they are not alone. Small groups of 6 adults, 6 weeks in length.

Parents of Children with Disabilities

Experiencing the joy of a birth of a child, then learning about the disability or chronic illness that your child has can lead to grief and loss, isolation, stress on relationship, financial stress, and multiple appointments that burden a family's time. Sharing this experience with other parents who understand helps soothe the sense of isolation and assists in the very real grief that occurs no matter how much the child is loved and adored.
