With over 30 years of experience working with children and families, I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, and behavioral disorders within the context of family therapy. In addition, my advocacy for children has informed my work as a reunification therapist for parents who have found themselves victims of parental alienation or estrangement from their children. Every child deserves to have a loving relationship with both parents whenever possible. I also specialize in ADHD diagnosis and treatment, including interfacing with both public schools and colleges. Treatment includes executive functioning skills development.
As a former school psychologist, I perform evaluations and have expertise when interfacing with school districts. For individuals struggling with ADHD and emotional dysregulation, I utilize interventions that can be superior to medication. Additionally, I evaluate and treat people on the spectrum with compassion and pragmatism.
My solution-focused approach provides clients with a toolbox by which they can leave therapy knowing how to help themselves. With couples and families, I utilize a systems approach and train each family member to cultivate emotional regulation and resiliency. Additionally, I utilize the Nurtured Heart approach to assisting parents with challenging children.
