Greg Sutton, LMFT, MA, MEd, Marriage & Family Therapist in San Jose
Relationships matter. To paraphrase a contemporary author, what really counts in our lives is not all our achievements and acquisitions, but the quality of our relationships. Even knowing this, it's so easy to find ourselves stuck in dysfunctional relational patterns. I have seen how therapy can break these old patterns of relating to others and to ourselves. As a relationally focused therapist, I will collaborate with you to examine the relational patterns in your life, and find remedies to those patterns that hinder happiness and lead to depression and anxiety.
I use the same relational approach whether working with children or adults. While with adults talk therapy is the vehicle for communication and change, with children play therapy is my primary vehicle for children for communicate and connection. Also, with children, I involve the family in the therapeutic process.
I think the connection between the therapist and the client is most essential to effective therapy. It is amazing how much just have a trained, attuned listener can create clarity and change. If what I've written above interests you, give me a call and let's talk.
