As a cognitive-behavior therapist (CBT), I am very goal-oriented. Some of the treatments I specialize in are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Affirmative Therapy for Sexual and Gender Minorities, CBT for Addiction, CBT for Insomnia (CBT-i), Cognitive Processing Therapy for Trauma (CPT), Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD (ERP), and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). CBT involves homework assignments between sessions. I give and welcome a lot of feedback, which improves the therapeutic relationship.
I am an Assistant Clinical Professor in the UCLA Department of Psychology and a Diplomate and Certified CBT Therapist with the Academy of Cognitive & Behavioral Therapies (A-CBT). CBT helps people access coping skills, challenge maladaptive thinking and behavioral patterns, and improve in psychological flexibility and problem solving.
I believe anyone who seeks psychological consultation should make an informed choice. To facilitate your important health care decision, if we determine that I am not the right doctor for you, I can usually recommend a number of skilled and trusted colleagues in the local professional community.
