Marriage & Family Therapist, MS, MA, LMFT
3036 Regent Street(510) 863-8101
My primary area of focus has been working with people who suffer from trauma and anxiety, in addition to depression. I do much work with those who suffer from emotional neglect, abuse histories, & post-traumatic stress (PTSD). I'm certified in EMDR and am continually impressed at the ability of something so simple to so rapidly relieve pain and suffering. EMDR has been listed as one of the leading trauma therapies. It can also be very effective in helping those who suffer from a childhood history of family difficulties and a lack of nurturing. Also trained in Somatic Experiencing.
EMDR studies show high degrees of effectiveness with the following conditions: Fears or Depression related to Trauma, Surviving Childhood Abuse, Performance & Test Anxiety, Sexual/Physical Abuse, Anxiety/Panic Attacks, Surviving an Assault or Robbery, Surviving Rape or an Accident, Witnessing Violence, Loss or Injury of a Loved One, Childhood Trauma.
As my previous profession involved working with immigrants, teaching them English and how to better acclimate to American society, I'm sensitive to the cross-cultural issues that people in this group face in adapting to this new home.

Greg is a warm and compassionate man. He's very bright and devoted to this clients.
Greg is a very warm, caring and compassionate therapist with wisdom as well as knowledge. As a colleague I have found him to be deeply authentic and present. I wholeheartedly recommend him without reservation.
Greg and I met during a professional certification training more than five years ago and I was immediately impressed with his ability to attune with those around him. Greg's personable presence allows people of all ages feel incredibly relaxed around him, which I've witnessed in numerous settings. Although Greg uses many theoretical models with his clients, especially EMDR and Hakomi, his most notable is his humor. I frequently refer clients to Greg, and highly recommend him as a clinician.
Greg is highly professional, empathic and easy to connect with. My experience of working along side Greg is that he is highly invested in creating a safe and supportive environment for which clients can create change and move towards their goals.
Greg is a highly trusted and respected colleague of mine. His skills, knowledge, and ability to connect with his clients is second to none. I have and will continue to refer clients to him, esp. those with complex trauma. Anyone would be lucky to be able to work with him.
Greg is an insightful and compassionate therapist and colleague. We worked together years ago where I witnessed his care and support for clients. He's thoughtful with a direct approach that embodies the great care needed to support clients in working through trauma, anxiety and depression. I recommend Greg and refer clients to him when given the chance.
Greg is an excellent therapist, experienced, empathetic and extremely skilled. Greg is certified in EMDR, a leading trauma therapy. His practice is in the East Bay and he sees couples and individuals. Greg works with people who have experienced shock and relational trauma as well as with individuals who experience mental health issues; histiries of abuse, anxiety, depression and identity issues.
Laura Elliot is an excellent clinician...warm, supportive, and insightful. She's very skilled in Hakomi, a mindfulness-based form of therapy and has extensive training in EFT, a highly effective form of therapy for working with couples. I feel very comfortable referring clients her way, both individuals and couples, and have a great faith in her, personally and professionally.
When I walk into Barry's office, I can only imagine that it makes his clients feel safe, relaxed, and supported. Barry's warmth, depth, sense of humor and insight are all part of what makes him such a superb clinician.
I have known Rachel for the past 6-7 years, originally having met in Phil Manfield's advanced EMDR consultation group. I've been consistently impressed with Rachel's warm, compassionate and grounded nature, in addition to her depth of insight. I see Rachel as a mentor and a highly skilled colleague, when it comes to working with trauma and anxiety. Her training and experience in EMDR and IFS, to name just a few modalities, is most impressive. I refer clients to her regularly and know that anyone who works with her is in very good hands.
Guy Albert and I have been colleagues for close to ten years and in that time, I have been consistently been impressed with the very significant range of his training and experience, as well as the range of clients that he's able to help, in a significant way. Guy is warm, sensitive, supportive, has a great depth of insight, which informs how he works with his clients...whether they be adult individuals, couples, teens or children. He is a superb clinician and I refer clients to him regularly and with great confidence.
Ninette has a wealth of knowledge and passion in the realm of loss and the grieving process. I attended a training she did on that topic recently and was very impressed at what I learned from her her in a mere two hours. My only regret is that it wasn't a 2-day training. Given her warmth and attentiveness to all the personal stories raised by the participants, I can only imagine that she's a very caring and insightful therapist.
Karen Sprinkel and I have been colleagues for close to five years and in that time, I have been consistently been impressed with the very significant range of her training and experience, as well as the range of clients that she's able to help, in a significant way. Karen is warm, sensitive, supportive, and has a great depth of insight, which informs how she works with her clients...whether they be adult individuals or couples. She is a superb clinician and I refer clients to her regularly and with great confidence.
I have known Holly the past 5-6 years, initially when she became President of the East Bay chapter of CAMFT. In the years since, I have consulted with her around her expertise in working with kids and teens, particularly in the use of EMDR, which has become one of her specialties. Now that she's become an Approved Consultant, through EMDRIA, she's situated herself to help fellow clinicians to hone their skills in working with trauma. I recommend Holly, both as a highly skilled clinician and as a professional who can help in training other professionals in the art and science of using EMDR to help clients overcome trauma.
Rozelle is both a really solid person and clinician. We worked together at Blue Oak Therapy Center and I have watched her over the years develop her specialization in working with trauma, the LGBT community, and those suffering with substance abuse issues. I am consistently impressed with her dedication to the field of psychotherapy, as well as her quest to expand her skill set as a professional. She is warm, supportive, insightful, and a great therapist. Rozelle also has a great sense of humor, which I see as a great resource for those with whom she works. I refer potential clients her way whenever I can.
Renee Beck is an excellent clinician...warm, supportive, and insightful. She was my supervisor when I was an intern at Holden High School, and was extremely helpful in teaching me all about the inner workings of the teenage psyche and how to help them to feel more comfortable in their skin and out in the world. Renee is great, both as a therapist and as a supervisor. I feel very comfortable referring clients her way, both teens and adults.
