Dr Rubino started the Rubino Center, 18 yrs ago, so people could be treated as people not as a number. We are all dedicated therapists & we look forward to helping you & working with you. I have over 30 years' experience as a clinician, published researcher and educator. I hold a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology and a Masters in Health Psychology. I have developed programs including Stress Management, Insomnia control and Meditation for programs such as Kaiser Permanente. This diversity of experience, allows me to help people understand their thinking processes, identify patterns of behavior and make sustainable changes. I strive to empower people to change both their behaviors and beliefs to allow them to achieve overall well-being and happiness. My philosophy stresses personal insight and responsibility, - integrating the physical, intellectual and spiritual.

Beyond knowing a therapist has degrees and a license, a list of credentials do not matter much in your choosing. Therapy is more art than science. Nor may you be impressed with a long series of my professional accomplishments. What you want to know is: Can I stop the pain? Can I make your depression and anxiety go away? Can I fix your career or relationship problem? The answer is: No, I cannot. But together we can. If you will bring the motivation and some willingness to trust I will bring knowledge and the ability to shift things. And perhaps, with the help of an unseen grace, together we can heal the hurt and find a solution.

I am available for telehealth appointments with current clients and those who have worked with me in the past.

I am interested in working with individuals couples and families who are facing changes in relationships. The first signs of depression and/or anxiety may be the need to work through unresolved issues. I have a special interest in the process of working through our personal "meaning in life" and how we recreate and grow with conflict and the resolution of conflict.

I'm a "seasoned" psychologist in practice for 40 years. I enjoy working with people from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds and have always preferred having a "general practice" which allows addressing a wide range of personal concerns. While each individual requires a unique approach; the transformative power of therapy is rooted in the trusting relationship that evolves between you & I. It's the alliance between us which helps you become the person you aspire to be. The work is serious but also allows for having a bit of fun while seeking the most gratifying life to foster a sense of fulfilling purpose for yourself.
