I have experience as a therapist in outpatient mental health clinics, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, cancer treatment facilities, substance abuse treatment centers and schools. With 9 years of serving both individuals and family systems, I have addressed a vast array of symptoms related to mental health concerns. I tend to focus on the whole body and its connections. I understand counseling as growth, much in the same way a tree grows. In counseling we honor our roots, noting where we came from while stretching our branches high and reaching for what we wish to become.
I believe that counseling should provide you with the knowledge and tools needed to experience an empowered and enriched life. I am collaborative, direct, and goal-oriented. I often utilize a CBT approach because I believe our thoughts/beliefs/interpretations have a big impact on how we feel, behave, and interact with Self & the world around us.
My clients may identify as sensitive and managing depression/anger/anxiety/loneliness, craving a space to look within and befriend their inner world. Despite their accomplishments, may still feel like they are not enough, especially in their relationships. The thoughts and habitual loops of past issues or rejection may cause them feelings of disconnection.
