Everyone has mental health and deserves to have a space to learn, grow, and access coping skills in their own mental health journey. I believe that everyone is the expert of their own lives and as a counselor, it is important to work as a team with my clients to reach their own mental health and wellness goals. I believe that all feelings are valid and it is important not only to have these feelings validated by others, but that it is also important to be able to validate our own feelings as well.
I primarily work under a holistic, person-centered, and acceptance and commitment approach. Thoughts, feelings, and life experiences can be extremely difficult, and my goal is to help clients accept the existence of these thoughts, feelings, and life experiences through validation and mindfulness while choosing to live a life based on their values.
It is important that the counseling space is a validating and judgement free space, and I hope that this will in turn, help my clients to validate their own thoughts, feelings, and experiences, without judgement. Life is challenging, and it is important that we be kind to ourselves and others.
