Hello! My name is Grace Hicks and I received my masters in Professional Counseling from Northwestern University. My therapeutic approach is person-centered, strengths-based, and psychodynamic at its core. In other words, I do my very best to create a safe, comfortable, and personalized space to dig deep and gain personal insight (ie exploring history, relationship patterns, defense mechanisms, etc) while also making daily life easier (ie gaining coping strategies, self care techniques, etc). My approach is also trauma-informed, allowing for a secure environment to navigate big T and little t traumas.
My passion is to foster self-compassion, hope, and life fulfillment for individuals and couples experiencing tribulation. With individuals, I use a person-centered, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and psychodynamic approach. I am a Certified Grief Professional and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I utilize the Gottman Method for couples therapy.
