Grace C Riddell, LICSW, LCSW-C, MEd, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in Washington
With more than 20 years experience I have had the privilege of watching people learn and grow in their life journeys. Psychotherapy offers a safe and healing environment in order to facilitate change and problem solving. I believe that my job is to listen to your story and to serve as an interactive guide in the process of change. You will learn a number of excellent tools to help you better communicate with yourself and others. Drawing from several modalities and techniques I encourage you to find your own voice and evolve into who you want to be.
On Groups: I am convinced that if we wish to construct any societal changes we must start at the individual and small group level. Groups are an excellent place to learn how to find your own blind spots, discover that you really are courageous and that each of us matters.
Aristotle's concept entelechy: a certain state of being in which a thing was actively working to be itself; the Latin translation denotes a force propelling one to self-fulfillment. I am like a potter at the wheel forming clay into a vessel not knowing how it will be filled.

It''s All About Change

"Who are you?"said the Caterpillar..."I hardly know, Sir, just at present," Alice replied rather shyly, "at least I know who I was when I got up this morning, but I think I must have changed several times since then." Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Like Alice we may be doubtful when facing career or relationship changes. Without the interior work of transition, change is just a rearrangement of the furniture. This group provides a safe place to explore the stages of transition: letting go, inner reflection during the in-between zone and a new beginning.
