You may also be dealing with trauma and, with focused trauma therapy, I can help you find a greater sense of calm. If you are in a couple, and hoping to improve your connection and communication, deal with past hurts, or simply to be more loving to one another, we can work together to create a stronger relationship.
I can work with you to find out what you are most needing and then I use a mix of listening, helping you to sort through what matters to you, and teaching you problem-solving and coping techniques. With both individuals and couples I often assign homework because it is your life outside of therapy that is where you want to see the change.
Sometimes we need someone to help us work through issues because it is too much to do on our own. Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills
This is a group designed to teach RO DBT Skills which are helpful to people who tend to over-control their emotions as a way to cope. The skills teach how to be more open to disconfirming feedback, flexible in responding to novel situations, and to better connect with other people. It is based on Thomas Lynch's Radically Open DBT that was developed over 20+ years.
