Dean provides a safe and supportive place for clients to confidentially discuss various individual and relational issues such as depression, anxiety, guilt, addiction and shame. He works with clients to gain a deeper understanding behind the pain and difficulty that leads someone to see a counselor. Various therapies are utilized by Dean, such as emotion focused, cognitive behavioral, acceptances and commitment, along with the integration of faith, if requested. He understands the difficulty of taking the first step to begin counseling, but encourages individuals to do so in order to find support, understanding and healing.
Having been a pastor for over 15 years, Dean is uniquely prepared to assist clients who want to integrate their faith into therapy. Additionally, he has experience as a university Director of Counseling, and is experienced with clients who may be struggling with the adjustment of leaving home, and who seek clarity in their academic and career direction.
Again, Dean is very aware of the anxiety, and even fear, that some persons may have about beginning therapy. He is always happy to speak with any individual about the process of counseling, and what a typical counseling session might look like.
