I have experience working in community non for profits as well as out patient hospital based treatment working with individuals who experience depression, anxiety, trauma, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, abuse, and difficulties in adjustments to difficult life situations. My approach is trauma, solution focused, and strengths based drawing from an eclectic style of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT)
When working with clients I like to engage with an individual from a space of building trust and exploring concerns at the pace that the individual is ready to work from. Parents and mental health
This group is intended to empower parents to understand the connection of mental health and their children. Group will be held weekly for 1 hour on each group meeting. Topics to be discussed are: Understanding mental health in adults and children, depression and anxiety causes and factors, how to help and cope through mental health concerns, self care, treatment: their is help, parenting skills training and an open forum for questions related to all concerns with mental health.
