Dr. Griffin is an award-winning Professor of Psychology in the Department of Critical Theory and Social Justice at Occidental College in Los Angeles where he teaches Poststructural and Postcolonial theory and conducts a clinical practice. He is a three-time recipient of the Open Care award for “Best Psychologist in Los Angeles.”
Dr. Griffin has been most successful with helping academics, artists, and creative individuals to navigate healthier relationships and flourish in personal and career growth through deeper self-understanding. Poststructural Self Psychology is central among his methodologies.
Born on the Island of Nevis, West Indies, Dr. Griffin is especially attuned to and trained in the work of identity formation in Afro-Caribbean, African American, and white individuals.
