As a clinical neuropsychologist, I provide cognitive testing services. This means I do not provide therapy or prescribe medications. Instead, I function like a consultant for your doctor to diagnose any cognitive disorders and provide recommendations for treatment.
My ideal clients are those experiencing problems with memory, attention, language, or other cognitive symptoms. These folks are often referred from their primary care doctors or other medical providers to find out if their cognitive issues are due to a condition like dementia.
Using record review, interview with the patient, and structured testing, I am able to identify a client's cognitive strengths and weaknesses and to determine if their symptoms are consistent with a known disorder like dementia. Clients will leave the evaluation with a personalized set of recommendations to address their specific situation and concerns.
I am a fellowship-trained neuropsychologist, which means I have completed specialized, additional training in neuropsychology above and beyond a doctorate in psychology. Thanks to this training, I am uniquely positioned to help answer questions about your cognitive concerns and help your providers get you the best possible treatment.
