Gina’s journey to counseling was anything but direct. After completing her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling (with a specialization in crisis and trauma) at Walden University in 2015, Gina worked at the University of Central Oklahoma as an academic advisor. Her life took an unexpected turn when in November 2019, Gina’s husband was killed in a tragic military aviation training accident. The tremendous loss of her husband affected her in many ways, including gaining a greater understanding of the impact of grief and trauma as well as the secondary losses that occur as part of reconciling the death of a spouse.
Gina’s personal experience of loss of identity, fear of an unknown future, anger at God, and feelings of isolation help her to connect with her clients in an empathic and non-judgmental manner.
Gina specializes in working with individuals and couples who are struggling with relational and marriage issues, grief, trauma, life transitions, and career difficulties. She loves hearing the life stories of her clients and being invited into their narratives to affect lasting change in their lives.
