Everybody is an individual and should be treated as such meaning I will treat you with individualized care. I also feel the session belongs to you and the time in the session is your time. I want you to feel respected, heard, and supported from our sessions. My goals is to make these sessions a place where you can go and not worry about being judged and have the ability work through your issues and concerns.
I work with members who are age 18 and older. I work with a variety of conditions including depression, change of life, stress, school, anxiety, job stress, and disability-related issues. My communication style tends to be open, understanding, and supportive. I don't judge and want my clients to know that I accept them for who they are.
During the first session I like to get to know the client better by asking questions. This allows me to better understand where the client is currently at and what the client wants to work on moving forward. I also want to allow time for the client to ask questions they may have about therapy.
