If you are a parent struggling with mood or sleep, trying to manage all the changes that come with the postpartum period, I am here for you. If you have experienced infertility, pregnancy loss, birth trauma or painful unmet expectations, this is the place for you to grieve and process. If negative body image, eating issues, and other addictions are impacting your life, I am also here for you. Or, you may need help decreasing your anxiety and depression or navigating relationships or career transitions. I can assist with those issues as well. It IS possible to deal with your challenges in more constructive ways and find balance.
My approach integrates psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral therapy, while adding mindfulness-based practices. Your goals will guide us, but I will help you resolve long-standing issues that may be keeping you stuck. Once you have tools to improve your daily functioning and decrease emotional reactivity, you can end behaviors that are no longer useful.
I understand it is a big step to begin this process. For therapy to be effective, you need a space where you can feel safe but also challenged. Groups
Pathways: A Postpartum Support Group
In this 6-week series, women going through the first year of life with a new baby gather to share their experiences, support one another, as well as learn ways to help ease the challenges that they may experience during this time. Moms will learn about postpartum mood issues, examine identity shifts, process changes in their relationships, develop relaxation and self-care tools, cultivate realistic expectations, and learn how to navigate transitions. This group is open to all moms, whether this is your first child or fifth, and they can bring their pre-crawling babies.
