My motto is: "Life is an Adventure". I have worked in the Mental Health field across many settings and with all age groups. As the years pass and my experience deepens, I find that my approach is leaning more and more towards Positive Psychology. While I am skilled and knowledgeable about how to help solve problems, work through issues and reduce symptoms, I also feel that it is my job to help people to access the strengths and assets that they already have or can develop to help them towards healing. I am currently certified as an EMDR Practitioner.
I have a particular interest in working with parents. I am fond of a playful parenting approach that combines a good sense of boundaries and limits and also the ability to enjoy the journey of being human together in a family that in and of itself is an adventure.
Therapy is like a puzzle that we work on together and each person's puzzle is unique. I rely on humor and re-framing to look at things in a new way. My goal is to help people to resolve issues, reduce stress and live life to its fullest.
