My name is Gill Jasmine Jr and I am a licensed professional counselor. I am 28 years old and have been in the field for over four years. My approach to therapy relies on the emphasis of the therapeutic relationship between the client and the counselor. It's imperative during this process that this therapeutic space is safe, nonjudgmental and trusting.
I like the tone and or environment in session to be laid back and relatable to the client. I prefer to use a lot of humor in session to make it light hearted but also provide a space for us to confront difficult feelings and or situations. I make it my mission to meet the client where they are and make them as comfortable as possible.
My approach for goal setting with clients can differ for each client depending on the presenting issue. When implementing and creating goals for the client, I ensure that they are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time bound.
