While we might long for changes in life, making change can be painful and scary. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I will parther with you on this journey. My practice focuses on treating intimacy/relationship problems, sexual addiction/compulsivity, alcohol/substance abuse, codependency/co-addiction, personality issues, childhood traumas, anxiety/depression and career/workplace concerns. I also specialize in working with the LGBT community. My career began with an MBA working on Wall Street. Since 1995 I've been practicing psychotherapy as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and received my MSW from Columbia University.
I'm a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner & I'm trained in EMDR. Both focus on trauma resolution. In addition, I use Inner Relationship Focusing & Hypnotherapy. I hold certifications in Group Psychotherapy (CGP), Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) & I'm a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT). I offer individual, couples & group psychotherapy.
I lead both a weekly Gay Men's Psychotherapy Group where members practice having new experiences relating to one another in the here & now, and a weekly recovery group for Gay Men struggling with Sex Addiction or Alcohol/Drug linked sexual behavior. This group offers an opportunity to have new experiences relating to other men while working on sexual health.

Gay Men Recovery: Sex Addiction/sex fused w/drugs
Group therapy is a very effective modality for treating people recovering from sex addiction (aka Out-of-Control Sexual Behavior-OCSB) or OCSB fused with drug and/or alcohol abuse. Attending a weekly group oriented towards sexual health with other gay men can break the shame/isolation & provide structure while trying to make changes. Other benefits include giving & receiving feedback & having opportunities for appropriate confrontation. This can facilitate a sense of responsibility for one's behavior & work towards recovering from substance abuse & achieving a healthy sex life.
