While we might long for changes in life, making change can be painful & scary. Therapy is a collaborative process & I will partner with you on this journey. My practice focuses on treating trauma, intimacy/relationship problems, sexual addiction/compulsivity, alcohol/substance abuse, codependency, anxiety/depression & career/workplace concerns. I'm a gay therapist & work extensively in the LGBTQ+ community with a specialty in gay mens' health and well-being. My first career was on Wall Street. Since 1995 I've been practicing psychotherapy as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I offer Individual, Couples & Group Psychotherapy.
I'm trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR & I'm a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. All three modalities focus on trauma resolution & are helpful with many issues. I also utilize Inner Relationship Focusing & Hypnotherapy. Additional certifications: Group Psychotherapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) & Certified Sex Addiction Therapist.
I lead a weekly Gay Men's Psychotherapy Group where members practice having new experiences relating to one another in the here & now, and a weekly group for Gay Men struggling with Alcohol/Drug linked Sexual Behavior / Sexual Addiction. This group offers an opportunity to have new experiences relating to other men while working on sexual health or recovery.

Gay Men's Therapy Group
While the group inherently is supportive, this group focuses on helping members practice having new experiences communicating and relating to one another on a weekly basis by expressing thoughts and feelings in the here and now in a group setting. Many members have never had this experience in their adult life and find group work invaluable.

Gay Men Recovery: Mixing Drugs and Sex (Chem Sex)
Group therapy is a very effective modality for treating people recovering from Sex mixed with drug and/or alcohol use (Chem Sex). Attending a weekly group with other gay men can break the shame/isolation & provide structure while trying to make changes. Group work is also a forum to practice connecting with other gay men which can help facilitate a sense of responsibility for one's behavior while working towards recovering from substance abuse and defining what sexual health means for each member.
