Even in moments when what we were born with (i.e., nature), how we were raised (i.e., nurture), or our capacity to act in our best interests (i.e., abilities) may seem to come up short in dealing with life's challenges, each of us can compassionately challenge ourselves to get to where we want to be. A psychotherapist can be a partner in the journey to understanding and accepting what needs to be done, and taking the necessary steps for change to happen.
I specialize in depression, anxiety, trauma, insomnia, and adjustment issues. In 3 to 4 months, we would strive to make a palpable difference in your life by focusing on what is burdensome now, identifying specific ways to make a difference, and developing skills to handle day-to-day situations.
I am trained in cognitive, behavioral, motivational, interpersonal, mindfulness, systems, and humanistic treatments. I also provide competency-based training to psychotherapists in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for Depression, CBT for Insomnia, Motivational Interviewing, and Prolonged Exposure for PTSD.
