Accepting new clients - Are you feeling depressed and anxious? Are you struggling with addiction? If so don't hesitate to call. I am both a licensed clinical social worker and a licensed clinical drug and alcohol counselor in the state of NJ. My experience is primarily focused on treating individuals and families struggling with mental health issues (depression, anxiety, etc.) and or addiction. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and other anxiety disorders in adults and children ages thirteen and up. I utilize evidence based therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) including Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP).

A client who is dealing with anxiety, depression or past trauma and needs a collaborative environment where they can reach their goals to address these issues. A client who is willing to work together with the therapist, is motivated/engaged and sees the therapeutic relationship as collaborative.

Undoubtedly the human condition is complex. However, I have found that individuals across cultures have an innate tendency to think in unhelpful ways and engage in acts of self-defeat, even despite their best efforts not to! Common self-defeating behaviors that I help others with include: avoidance/decision conflicts, isolation, procrastination, passive and/or aggressive communication, substance, sex, gambling, technology addiction. Self-defeating behaviors are often closely linked to unhealthy negative emotions that you may also be experiencing such as: depression, anxiety, anger, guilt, shame, hurt, envy, and jealousy.

I am a (LCSW) and (CCS) in New Jersey with 23 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with coping with grief and loss, emergency psychiatric issues, addictions, gender, sexuality and LGBT-related issues, intimacy and relationship related struggles, eating disorders and related symptoms/behaviors, and ADHD and Spectrum disorders in both adults and children as well as overall struggles related to day to day stressors.

I have a great deal of experience using evidence based practices and techniques geared towards improving the lives and happiness of clients. I emphasize helping clients be more aware of their common thought patterns and to modify their ways of thinking and emotions to better promote feelings of well being. Focusing on the present is more conducive to well being than being consumed by the past or worries about the future. Helping clients control what they can is the key.and inevitably behavior will change as well.
