Amanda spent many years working in the service industry before pursuing a career in clinical social work. While working in this industry, the various injustices in society and stigmas relating to mental health and trauma became more prevalent. Amanda realized that she could no longer remain silent and left this industry to pursue a career that would allow her to bring awareness to mental health stigmas as well as offer supportive counseling to individuals in need.
While working in inpatient settings, Amanda developed an eclectic approach to therapy because she wanted to tailor therapy sessions to meet the unique needs of each patient. Amanda knows the courage it takes for individuals to reach out for mental health help, and she enjoys working alongside individuals that choose to actively engage counseling.
Amanda is trained in Prepare Enrich, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and EMDR. Amanda also utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Amanda offers clients weekday appointments either in the Waco office or via telehealth.
