The biggest lessons I learned and I utilize today in psychotherapy practice is that every individual is the expert in their own life and with the right guidance can tap into their strengths to achieve their goals. People need a safe space to work through what is bothering them. The most important question is not "What is wrong with you?", but rather, "What has happened to you?" We are shaped and influenced by our experiences. At times, unfortunately, this comes out as anxiety, depression, unhealthy habits, relationship issues, and a myriad of other mental health issues.
My interest and efforts to help others grow and change started in education and sustainable development in South America as a Peace Corps volunteer. I consider myself culturally sensitive. I have been in the social work/behavioral health field for over 15 years. I am a trauma-informed therapist. I use a variety of helpful skills to address your needs.
I offer individual psychotherapy in-person or via telehealth video session. I will be mindful of using therapy modalities that fit your goals and work at a pace that fits your needs. I look foward to helping you reach the self-improvement that you desire.
