Therapists Beginning With K in Georgia
As an intensively trained DBT therapist, I use a collaborative approach to help clients build a life worth living. As a performance coach and certified personal trainer, I assist clients in integrating their health and fitness goals with their current lifestyle as well as helping them understand and manage the impact of their emotions on their fitness, health and day to day life. In teaching skills to both groups, I work together with clients to develop their own plan for overcoming the emotional and physical barriers currently challenging them and help them to create their path for moving forward and achieving their goals.

After 27 years of teaching, I retired from the innovative West Georgia Psychology Department, opening a practice in Atlanta, Georgia. It specializes in intensive psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. My psychotherapy is informed by existential and humanistic training. I trained with the Jungian, Thomas Moore. I have engaged in learning Lacanian psychoanalysis since the 1990's. (Quebec City & New York City) Anyone who finds herself or himself baffled by patterns of unsatisfying behavior, unexplained physical or emotional suffering, or coming to terms with loss, may find my practice helpful. This approach sees a client as a singular person with a history and story, containing truths and possibilities .

My work is for those who feel stuck performing as a version of themselves they no longer feel connected to. You may be a self-prescribed perfectionist, people pleaser, high-achiever, or just someone who struggles to make decisions because you don't know what you like without input from others. In my office, I'll help you explore the inner language you've developed as a way to survive in your life so far. Together we'll untangle your wants and needs from the desire to keep others happy, and guide you towards finding your own voice.

I help nerdy cool awkward teens and young adults navigate through a world that doesn't seem to fit. My clients struggle like you do. Despite being smart, funny, and knowing the ins and outs of their favorite games, life is hard. When they first come in, they tell me that they don't need therapy. They explain that other people don't get them, blame them, and expect them to be something they're not. They can't figure out where life went from sometimes fun/sometimes boring to unmanageable and overwhelming. They talk about their family not caring and not really having friends. They struggle to communicate with pretty much everyone.

Hi, I’m Sara and I’m a therapist who works with kids (ages 4+), teens, young adults, parents, and families. If you’re here, chances are something isn’t feeling quite right and you’re looking for someone who will meet you with understanding, compassion, and real support. I’d be honored to be that person for you.
I was drawn to this work through my own healing journey, and I know firsthand how powerful it can be to have someone walk alongside you when life feels overwhelming or uncertain. I don’t believe in quick fixes or one-size-fits-all solutions, but I do believe in the strength that can come from feeling seen and supported.

You’ve always known something’s off, but knowing hasn’t made it easier. You’ve asked yourself, “Why can’t I just be normal?” You can overanalyze everything but still can’t start the laundry. You’ve achieved plenty, but happiness still feels like it’s happening to other people. Your brain’s a tangled blur. Too loud to focus, too restless to rest. Motivation flickers. Friendships are hard. There’s so much you want to do if only your brain would get on board. You are a deep-feeling, world-weary, overthinking nerd with a longing to be understood. If this sounds familiar, you’re my kind of nerd. And you don’t have to untangle this alone.
