I am a bilingual (Spanish) Licensed Professional Counselor. I graduated from Texas Tech University majoring in Sociology with a concentration in criminology. I went on to obtain a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health from the University of Texas at El Paso. I have experience working with at-risk youth and in a psychiatric hospital setting at an inpatient and outpatient capacity.
I believe that a strong client-counselor relationship is essential for my client’s success. I recognize that by being genuine, empathic, and nonjudgmental my client can make positive changes. My work with clients is both client lead and collaborative. I use a combination of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy.
