I believe that therapy is about helping my clients explore the questions of being human - what makes us connected or disconnected with ourselves and others, and how we can live in a way that is authentic and meaningful. I hope to provide a supportive and challenging space for clients who are seeking to understand the issues that are holding them back from living their fullest lives. I am direct and active in session, while allowing people the space to develop their own insights.
I specialize in relationship issues, family patterns and roles, life transitions, identity, and intimacy. I often help people identify ways of coping that worked at various times in their life that are no longer working. I primarily use psychodynamic and existential theory, IFS and parts work, as well as somatic techniques.
Starting therapy for the first time or with a new therapist can be stressful. I try to be as transparent about the process as possible and I am always happy to answer any questions you have. Right now I have limited availability to take new patients but I supervise three clinicians, Kathy Ryan, Jodi Keller and Laura Duprey, who I highly recommend.
