I believe therapy should be a safe and non-judgmental space with a healthy mix of feeling your feelings, accountability, education and humor. My approach is to serve as a partner and guide on your journey to explore and sort the helpful vs. unhelpful in your life. Sometimes this journey will be tearful and uncomfortable, and sometimes we will laugh together at my many metaphors. I am most passionate about working with individuals who feel like they are “not good enough,” worry about living up to others’ expectations or struggle sometimes to get out of bed because their sadness is overwhelming.
I have been practicing for over 6 years in residential and outpatient settings. Areas of expertise include disordered eating, poor body image and low self-esteem, anxiety, OCD, depression, self-harm behaviors and suicidal ideation. I have completed extensive training in CBT, ERP, DBT, ACT and EFT Tapping. I am also an Approved Supervisor in the state of WA.
I know that asking for help can be next to impossible, and sometimes it feels more comfortable to “stick to what we know,” even if it is painful. Whether you are seeking a more positive relationship with food and your body or feel confused and overwhelmed as you go through life transitions, we can work together to help you move towards the life you want.
