I work with people who want therapy that acknowledges the reality of living in this world - the systems, oppressions, and stressors that shape mental health. Many of my clients are Black, queer, or otherwise marginalized, and are looking for care that validates those experiences. My approach is direct, collaborative, and informal - you can expect some humor, direct honesty, and lived understanding with me. I don’t shy away from naming the ways systemic harm impacts our lives.
I help adolescents and adults explore the intersections of identity, oppression, and mental health. Whether you’re navigating identity, trauma, or simply learning how to value yourself outside of what you provide to others, I will work alongside you as we create a path toward healing.
I believe that when working with folks, one has to take into account not just the person in their entirety, but all-encompassing situations that may impact functioning, understanding, being, and existing. I am informal. I curse a lot (unless you ask me not to). I am not above being corrected. I engage folks side-by-side, and not in a hierarchy.
