I am a licensed psychologist with over 20 years of full-time experience providing therapy to clients age 18 and older. Issues I commonly work with include anxiety, OCD, panic, relationship issues, grief and loss, depression, anger, sexual trauma, intimate partner abuse, PTSD, childhood abuse/neglect, and medical trauma/chronic disease. In my practice, I aim to provide professional expertise in a context that is comfortable and non-intimidating. Clients generally appreciate my warm and friendly personality, my clear feedback and direction, and the freedom to intersperse some laughter amidst our hard work.
Special populations for which I have relevant professional or lived experiences include: step-parenting; military veterans/families; those processing theological deconstruction or psychological harm experienced within a religious context. I desire and welcome opportunities to work with clients from ethnic and cultural backgrounds different than my own.
As is the case for many professionals in this field, my childhood was significantly impacted by trauma and mental illness.
