Alyssa takes a holistic approach with her clients, specializing in adult and adolescent therapy, couples and families, and uses a client-centered approach informed by Internal Family Systems, and Adlerian Theory.

My approach to counseling is to hold sacred space with you- this space and dedicated time is especially sacred in the hustle and bustle of life. To prioritize, slow down and explore your human experience might feel like a luxury, but in fact it is a necessity. Sometimes life pulls us so hard, that we are forced into this space, other times it is a slow burn that builds. When we listen carefully, we often can figure out what we need, lovingly challenge the thoughts that do not serve us and take steps to connecting to our authentic selves.

Hi! My name is Kristine Moss, and I am excited to walk this new journey with you. I am a therapist and Licensed Social Worker who is devoted to creating an emotionally safe environment for healing and self-growth. I serve both individuals and families, tailoring evidence-based treatments according to each client’s specific needs.

My speciality is helping children and youth experiencing anxiety, depression, and school refusal behaviors. Young people interested in improving their situation can learn tools that help, practice effective communication, and progress towards their goals. In my work, I build rapport and engage each individual in relational & therapeutic conversations. I value my faith, believe strongly in trauma-informed practices, education, family systems, and incorporate CBT strategies. It is important to have a little fun, laugh, and celebrate our success.

My counseling experiences over the years have been incredibly enriching and meaningful. I am continually moved by the varying degrees of challenging life experiences that we are all tasked with navigating and the ways we attempt to cope, gain insight from, and hopefully transform our adverse circumstances. I’ve had the opportunity to assist a diverse range of clients in both inpatient treatment and outpatient therapy settings. Within these programs I’ve helped clients address anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, academic challenges, relationships, identity changes, sexuality, and general life stressors.

I have completed Level 3 of Gottman Theory Training, and am a leader in the Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work program.

I use an integrative approach to counseling and psychotherapy to help meet the individual needs of each client. I understand that a strong therapeutic relationship, including a foundation of trust, is essential to the therapeutic process. Learning about my client and understanding the presenting issue(s), we work collaboratively to identify goals for therapy. A Treatment Plan, tailored to each client, involves a combination of cognitive, affective, behavioral, and somatic techniques. I draw from a variety of methodologies and techniques to incorporate what is most helpful in resolving current and long-standing issues.

Our short-term residential rehab program has proven successful at healing a variety of chemical dependency issues and some mild co-occurring mental health disorders. Overarching treatment outcome is healing and restoration and rehabilitation for clients to become healthy, happy and productive individuals.
