Navigating through this life can become difficult and because we are human, we are vulnerable and face challenges. As a licensed therapist, I have successfully aided clients in managing difficulties utilizing evidenced-based practices, implementing a holistic approach, while analyzing the big picture. My experience working in various levels of care and with different populations has afforded me a wealth of training in areas such as depression, anxiety, severe mental illness, trauma, substance abuse, social adaptability, dual diagnosis, gambling, and a variety of other life altering deficiencies.

I am committed to understanding and addressing the unique needs of my clients. I believe that everyone carries their own unique experiences and it’s my role to unearth and understand these experiences to help you navigate through life’s challenges. I envision my ideal client as someone who is ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery and healing. They may be struggling with emotional distress or simply seeking to understand themselves better. Regardless of where they are in their journey, my mission is to guide them towards achieving their personal goals and finding inner peace.

My approach to counseling is one of offering space to client for their own empowerment and assisting my clients in becoming active participants in their thoughts, growth, and lives. I strive to embody trust, transparency, and authenticity in all realms of my life and work. I believe a relationship with a counselor is a caring space where one can be themselves without worries of judgment. From my perspective, counseling is a safe relationship in which one can explore their concerns, learn about themselves and the world around them, and try new things to find what works to harness positive change and improve well-being.

I am a licensed professional counselor with a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from John Carroll University, and a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Notre Dame College. I graduated in 2022 and completed my internship with Crossroads Health, which is a community based mental health agency that strives to provide trauma-informed services, for all people, at any stage in life. The clients I served at Crossroads Health ranged from children to young adults. I provided a multitude of interventions for my clients based on the client’s needs, while remaining ethnically, and culturally sensitive.

My style of counseling is straightforward and direct, but I do not tell you what to do, but help you to figure out what action is best for you. I use CBT (talk therapy ) and Person Centered Therapy, as well as hypnotherapy. I have helped hundreds of people struggling with depression, anxiety , addiction and those in the LGBTQ+ community. I have been doing this a long time and understand we all make mistakes. I believe the important thing is to be willing to work for change.

As a Counselor and Art Therapist, I work with clients and their support systems to achieve a state of health and wellness. You may have done therapy previously, or this may be your first time, but either way I will walk you through every step of this process providing education, support, warmth, and encouragement. I believe that all of us know what we need in our lives, and we are all capable of achieving our goals, but at times we may need new tools and a consistent encouraging support system to make progress.

Trauma or life circumstances can disrupt multiple facets of life (e.g. career, family, education, self-esteem, self-identity, or a sense of security) which may be overwhelming and increases the risk of isolation, depression, anxiety, grief as well as detachment from the community. The space of therapy is a place for you to reconnect with a sense of self, happiness, feel safe, hope, and be comfortable in a place where all are accepted. As a Clinical Psychologist, my specialties are anxiety and anti-anxiety training , depression and anti-depression training, OCD, relationship training and coaching for individuals. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is my main method and is a very learner friendly set of skills. Whatever method used, healing old wounds releases new energy for learning the skills needed to overcome old habits that interfere with the best we can be. Building and learning mindfulness skills and a new awareness is a part of CBT.

Megan is experienced in working with adults experiencing severe mental health concerns, mood disorders, personality disorders, and trauma. She has extensive knowledge on trauma, trauma responses and the neurobiology of trauma, and has facilitated both individual and group counseling for individuals with these concerns. As a queer practitioner, Megan has experience leading both individual and group counseling for LGBTQIA+ populations who may be experiencing concerns related to identity. Megan is aligned and open to working with non-monogamous and alternative relationship styles and orientations.

I strive to work towards creating a space where you can radically accept who/where you are, while also working towards creating the life you want to live. A collaborative approach is used to explore developed behavioral patterns, emotional reactions, and instilled beliefs. Doing so can be an intimating yet a rewarding process, one I aim to walk alongside. I am a culturally aware, LGBTIA+ affirming, sex-positive, body-positive, and flexible clinician who believes that a “one-size fits all” approach to counseling does not exist! Melissa Miller is a Licensed Social Worker and Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor. She earned her Master's degree in social work from The Ohio State University and her Bachelor's degree in social work from Cleveland State University. Her experience primarily lies in providing individual and group therapy in both community mental health and forensic social work as well as private practice. Melissa has served a wide variety of client populations, including adults who have experienced incarceration, substance use, and religious trauma.

My “expertise” is in the treatment of anxiety (amongst other diagnoses). In exploring your concerns, my most frequently used theoretical approach is cognitive-behavioral therapy or CBT, which generally involves: (a) identifying and changing the unhelpful thoughts and beliefs that create and support our anxious feelings and/or (b) using time during therapy(or suggesting things to try at home) to approach, rather than avoid, the things that create fear or anxiety.
