I take a holistic, person center approach in treatment and enjoy meeting people where they are. I do utilize motivational interviewing skills and help in guiding towards healthy ways to cope. I enjoy working with all populations but specialize with 10+. I have a background working with dual diagnosis, LGBTQIA+, post crisis care treatment, grief, behavioral and mood disorders, eating disorders, OCD, psychosis, and trauma.

We all have moments in our life where we need support and encouragement. My primary focus is to provide clients with a safe and trusting environment with a compassionate treatment model. As we work together, we will build a therapeutic approach that feels comfortable and meaningful to you. My areas of expertise begin with using a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach, Psychoanalytic and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy which concentrates on learning, Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotion Regulation and Distress Tolerance. I also offer spiritual support for those who are seeking spiritual counseling.

Within the 23yrs of working in mental health, Vonda have striven to bring an effective blend of experience, expertise, clarity, concern and action to the therapy process in order to maximize outcomes and provide genuine healing and wholeness to individuals, marriages and families. She knows that life isn’t always easy and sometimes, even the strongest people need a little bit of help to work through some of life’s challenging problems. She also knows that everyone has battles to fight and hurdles to overcome at some point and the only difference between you and another is "how" you choose to handle "what" has or is happening to you.

Every person has their own path to take, and if you are ready to start your journey, I would be honored to take it with you. I specialize in working with individuals and couples. My areas of concentrations are in trauma, depression, anxiety, and LGBTQ individuals. I received my MSW from Gallaudet University and have been a LCSW since 2003. I am a trained Hypnotherapist, and have been Certified in Trauma, and Grief and loss. I use a variety of approaches to help clients resolve areas of concern and embrace their new and better future.

Person-centered by nature, I view clients as congruent, accepting and appreciating their experiences with empathy. I have worked with clients who have experienced the following life transitions: first-time job excitement followed by advised-resignation or firing; working FT as a single parent enrolled in classes; maintaining an income while working through an illness; military to civilian employment; long-term unemployment then a great job; and a new view of taking tests and quizzes after having surprising results from career assessments.
