About

I am a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Play Therapist. Being a Veteran, I believe that I possess the knowledge and experience of the military culture to be relatable to the military population and their family. My focus is on anxiety, grief, ADHD, depression, communication issue, conduct disorder, veterans, and addictions. I am passionate about helping others have better wellbeing; I especially work with People of Color and the LGBTQ community. I assist by supporting clients to identify attainable goals and systematically work toward them.
I practice from a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) framework. CBT helps individuals examine how thoughts and feeling impact one’s behavior or actions. CBT is a highly effective treatment approach because clients learn to examine maladaptive thoughts/feelings and reframe them so they can implement more positive behaviors or actions.
Are you ready to feel better and do better? Contact me today to schedule a session and begin working on your goals and becoming even more empowered. Contact me at my email address geannee@tpcnola.com.
