Announcement icon I conduct either online therapy or in office with masks, social distancing, and extra sanitizing measures in place.
Renee Kathleen Burke is not currently accepting new clients.
I work with children (2-18) and young adults (up to 25) struggling with debilitating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, grief, school-related issues, and relationship difficulties. I have an attachment-oriented perspective and do play therapy, use trauma focused cognitive behavioral techniques, expressive arts, and mindfulness meditation as well as family therapy to facilitate change. I take a collaborative approach to treatment and examine how processes outside therapy unfold in the context of the therapeutic relationship.
Psychological and behavior problems at home and school emerge in the context of a complex set of genetic, developmental, attachment, social, individual, and family factors & stressors. I apply a solutions-focused non-judgmental approach to treatment. I am also training/ receiving supervision in LGBTQ youth and gender creative & trans teens and young adults.
I use traditional talk therapy, art, play, sandtray, cognitive-behavioral techniques, DBT, mindfulness, movement, and trauma-informed methods of care as well as systems interventions, psychoeducation, parenting interventions, and family therapy.
