My counseling practice focuses on adolescent and adults with a specialized focus on LGBTQ+ populations. As a gay man, I am held by deeply spiritual beliefs to help my LGBTQ+ community whenever possible. I also treat addiction, dual-diagnosis, spirituality, anxiety, gender identity, depression, divorce, grief and those who are recovering from religious abuse. I meet clients where they are in life and that is always my starting point while building a relationship to facilitate change.
I use a direct approach while in session with clients. For clients, I want to help guide the path towards acceptance as they set goals, find inner strength, and build social support to overcome obstacles, and confront challenges. I write letters for gender confirmation surgeries and HRT. I also use EMDR to treat traumatic memories and events.
My therapy goals for my clients are to move from a place of uncertainty and suffering to growth, healing and understanding. I help clients set goals, build social support and discover new ways of understanding situations that happen in life. Clients can expect to overcome obstacles, confront challenges and achieve a balanced and full life.
