The range of interpersonal and skill-based interventions includes an understanding of family, culture, and gender specific influences on the current issues or concerns. The use of mindfulness principles and skills provides an added support to clients for strengthening their ability to better manage stress and for overall well-being. In over two decades as a psychotherapist I have consistently found that an integrative approach is most effective for promoting the positive outcomes that my clients are seeking.

I am a credentialed eating disorder specialist. I treat the spectrum of Eating Disorders including Anorexia and Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, Eating Disorders non-specific as well as Body Image Disturbance (Dissatisfaction and Distortion). Each person is unique with their specific diagnosis, situation and issues. My Graduate training in Dance/Movement Therapy gave me a good base for body image therapy. B-I Therapy and it's role in treating eating disorders makes sense on a personal level as it helped me immensely in my struggle with my own recovery process in the 70's as a College student/ dancer.

I specialize in the comprehensive treatment of alcohol and drug abuse for both the individual and the family suffering. I have extensive experience in inpatient treatment programs for addiction, including Rushford Center in Middletown, Stonegate in Durham and Turning Point/Tunbridge in New Haven. Both adults and adolescents with or without an interest in 12 Step Work are the focus of my work. My extensive background in Spiritual Counseling can prove to be very helpful in assisting clients discover and foster their own spiritual path in recovery.
