We cannot come to a place of lasting peace and wholeness in ourselves until we learn to meet & hold our inner experience in compassion &kindness. This is a Skill, that through practice can be learned, profoundly changing our day to day lives. Progressively moving us to greater ease, joy, happiness, inner acceptance. Unresolved Trauma causing shameful feelings of unworthiness, anxiety, depression, addictions, low self esteem etc, makes this acceptance harder to do. In my early work as a Trauma Therapist in the early 90's I thought if I just helped someone resolve their traumas they would become much more happy and whole.
I then realized if I had a magic wand & erased all of someone's trauma, if I didn't teach them how to be with themselves, how to navigate their lives they would soon be back. My work now weaves these 2 essential aspects or healing: Trauma Release & Learning to be with and hold ourselves in kindness. The harder it is to be inner kind, the more we suffer...
And the more important it is we learn to do this. For Trauma Release, the work integrates the use of powerful, trauma resolution tools ex. EMDR, Brain Spotting, IFS type Inner Parts Work, ART & TAT. These enable the trauma resolution part of the therapy to progress faster & with far less suffering than just talk therapy. The initial phone consult is free.
