Gary Schreiner PhD LMFT. My approach is to strengthen the skills that already exist in you. To help you find the solutions to the issues that are troubling you with. I utilize a Cognitive approach that focuses on finding solutions to the issues that you are struggling with. My whole philosophy and training is in Systems theory, which incorporates working within the framework of our family of origin as well as current relationship dynamics.
My typical caseload is any individual older than 16. I have a vast experience in working with depression, anxiety, and my expertise is in relationship dynamics. My experience encompasses educational systems, our military heroes, delinquent issues, and marital issues.
It first started as a way to make a difference in people's lives. My goal morphed from being a sports psychologist to a family therapist after working with students as a High School Counselor. I realized that it doesn't help to work with one individual and then send that person back to a dysfunctional family.
