I am a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner, meaning I have met the requirements to operate my mental health practice. I have been working as a counselor for over 25 years. I work with adolescents and adults with a variety of emotional and relational needs. Like most counselors, I am somewhat eclectic, which means I draw from various theoretical approaches. I especially like using Rational Emotive Behavior therapy as I think it helps empower clients to take charge of their reactions to the trauma of life that often brings them to therapy.
I work with couples dealing with anxiety and depression from relationship conflicts. I am also comfortable working with those struggling with PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders. I am very comfortable working with unresolved trauma from past abusive experiences my clients have had.
I am very interactive with my clients. I want anyone I meet with to feel accepted and validated. I take a nonjudgmental approach and do my best to remember that my clients are the experts on their lives and I am only invited into their journey to help them figure out what works best for them.
