I'm very interested in a person's patterns. It's been my experience that a person's patterns often serve to increase or maintain their symptoms of depression and anxiety. Different patterns that consistently impact these symptoms include communication style, emotional expression, connection to others, and how someone addresses problems. My work focuses on identifying patterns, understanding how they influence symptoms and behaviors, and then helping someone make decisions about how to change them. My hope is that people end their work with me with increased self-awareness, improved relationships, and a sense of wholeness.
I strive to create an atmosphere of warmth, openness, and genuineness. I'm interested in how a person's relationships, emotional problem-solving patterns, and cultural contexts impact their current difficulties. I draw from interpersonal, relational-cultural, and cognitive behavioral approaches to help people reach their therapeutic goals.
