Most people come to see me because they find themselves living the same painful patterns despite wanting something different.
After nearly twenty years as a psychotherapist, I've learned that anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, emotional suffering, and difficulties in parenting are rarely random.
My work begins by understanding those patterns rather than trying to eliminate symptoms. Lasting change comes from understanding why you have come to feel, think, and relate as you do and to determine, together, exactly what shall be conditions that allow growth.
My practice is informed by psychoanalysis, attachment theory, clinical social work, and nearly two decades of clinical experience.
Therapy that really helps won't offer predetermined advice or quick solutions. Instead, if we work together, we will become curious about the patterns that shape your life—many of which exist outside conscious awareness.
Some people benefit from brief therapy focused on a particular problem. Others are looking for something more comprehensive. Depending on your goals, we may meet once or several times each week. More intensive psychotherapy allows us to move beyond symptom relief toward enduring changes in personality, relationships, and emotional life.
