I've worked for decades in trauma, addiction and recovery, including couples therapy where one or both of the partners are in recovery and/or struggling with addiction issues both substance and process (eg gambling, pornagraphy).

My passion is helping individuals facing challenges with past and current issues. By finding what motivates them and focusing on their strengths, we work together to help build the skills to move ahead. I use a cognitive behavioral, person-centered, and solution-focused approach and always ensure that my clients can be themselves in a judgment-free environment. I work with adults experiencing challenges with managing their anger, family problems, depression, grief, anxiety, difficulties with college, gaming and gambling addictions. I work with children and adolescents who need help with various behaviors.

I have been a clinician for 23 years. I have a Master's from the U of MD Social Work program. I have enjoyed wide-ranging training and employment in many settings, including supervising a county-wide suicide hotline, in an adolescent residential facility, intensive outpatient and in-home therapy. I have worked in diverse settings, such as Johns Hopkins Methadone/Suboxone program and for an AZ Native Tribal Nation. I am experienced in diverse treatment modalities, including DBT (couples and family) dual-diagnosis treatment, Imago and in Imago/communication focused couples therapy, and multi-systemic or strategic family therapy.

Nicholas worked with mentally ill, criminally-involved individuals with an in-home treatment model designed to assist in recovery. He then transitioned to the emergency room at Bellevue Hospital where his team would work to assist those in crisis.
