My name is Joann Crants, I am Licensed in the state of Pennsylvania as a Professional Counselor (LPC). I have over 30 years of experience working in various inpatient and outpatient settings. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, PTSD, childhood trauma, career challenges, substance abuse issues, and grief and loss. As we begin our therapeutic journey, I will assume that you may be somewhat overwhelmed and perhaps not really know where to begin or what you would like to work on.

With over 30 years of clinical practice, extensive continuing education, and an emphasis on what works rather than on what’s wrong, I tailor my approach to the specific needs of each individual, couple, family, and group for whom I provide service. Using proven methods, I am able to offer, among others, supportive, interactional, brief problem-solving, cognitive-behavioral, including trauma focused cognitive-behavioral, and relational psychotherapies. Common themes among my clients are concerns related to relationship difficulties, bereavement, mood disorders including depression, anxiety, childhood behavioral problems, eating disorders, compulsive and additive behaviors, and difficulties related to specific life circumstances.

I’ve worked in a variety of therapeutic settings throughout my career, making my experience diverse. I have spent time in residential and outpatient treatment facilities, community-based programs, and school settings, where I supported both children and adults.

I offer individual therapy to adults experiencing mental health challenges, including living with anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, PTSD, life transitions, addiction struggles, self-esteem, and family/relationship conflict. I also have experience working with military veterans.

I am accepting Face-2-Face AND telehealth clients. I am equipped to provide HIPAA compliant telehealth services by voice or video. This has now been approved by all insurance carriers, and is an option which extends flexibility, but our office is also open . I have broad experience in working with mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, substance use disorders, and families struggling with addiction. I also help those with problems caused by alcohol or drugs, couples trying to save a relationship. and those in child custody disputes because of divorce or separation. I also help with process addictions like gambling and pornography.
