I have spent the past 20 years helping adolescents (and their families) with the work of growing into healthy, happy adults. My background includes teaching high school, running a summer camp, school counseling, and directing September High School. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have brought these experiences into my clinical work.

With a witness, and using principles of somatic therapy we can begin to excavate the limiting beliefs taking up valuable real estate in our psyche and put in motion an upshift of our self-concept. The therapeutic container acts as a vessel in which to recontextualize who we have been, who we are now and who we want to become.

I consider myself a holistic practitioner and have been trained in various therapies as well as experienced many aspects of life. My path has included working with military sexual trauma, combat trauma, chronic pain, addictions, family conflict, depression, bi-polar, personality disorders, just to name a few.

She holds a certificate in Trauma from the University of Denver and utilizes a trauma-informed approach when working with clients. Yazmine is also an Adult Associate Level Treatment Provider with the Colorado Sex Offender Management Board (SOMB) and specializes in providing therapeutic treatment and intervention for individuals struggling with sexual behaviors, sexual disorders and sexual offending, while utilizing a victim-centered approach.

Our capacity to connect, both with ourselves (i.e. our passions, feelings, and body) and with others, is crucial to our feelings of well-being. When we connect, we generally feel a sense of aliveness in ourselves and the world. When we can't connect, we feel anxious, isolated, empty, or depressed. I feel my job is to help clients to more fully connect to the range of their experiences. I help adults and adolescents explore why they lose connection. I help them identify, understand, and overcome the deep root of their disconnection. I help them find well-being, which gives me great joy.
