In my years in practice the ideal client is always the one willing to effect changes in their present situation. Often times I see clients who have gone to other practitioner, but are yet to find the right fit and level of understanding they need. In my practice I take the approach of collaborating and starting "where the client is" in an effort to adequately help and not merely make the client feel better.
I have expertise in many areas of mental health, particularly depressive disorders, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and posttraumatic stress. I accept different insurances, including MediCare and Medi-Cal managed health plans and as part of my ethical standards and commitment to helping others I can offer pro-bono services.
I'm a bilingual psychotherapist who has a deep understanding of cultural and social factors affecting the client. I'm also a lecturer for SDSU with expertise in research methods and with such experience I am able to utilize psychological testing in my practice.
